Our institute conducts bacterial disease diagnosis at the Bacteriological Diagnosis Laboratory according to standard diagnosis methods accepted by OIE (Office International Des Epizooties). Our laboratory is a part of the External Quality Assurance System established by Danish Veterinary Laboratory and World Health Organisation.

A. DUTIES

1- Performing laboratory diagnosis of materials incoming from the field with suspicion of bacterial infection and ensuring the provision of timely and effective treatment and of protective measures

2- Performing antibiotic susceptibility testing of isolated and identified disease agents and recommending appropriate antibiotics

3- Performing the isolation and identification of bacteria from the Enterobacteriaceae family

4- Performing the isolation and identification of bacterial disease agents of Aquaculture and Honeybees

5- Conducting in-service training programs for other personnel of Veterinary Control Institutes and Veterinary Surgeons working in the field

6- Rendering services at various commissions formed by the Ministry regarding their area of expertise
