Bacterial Diagnostic Laboratory

Since the first establishment of the Pendik Veterinary Control Institute, the Bacterial Diagnostics Laboratory, which has been working with Anaerobe Laboratory together, and it still continues its activities as a separate laboratory since 1946. It is the first bacteriology laboratory established in Turkey for animal health. The isolation, identification, molecular and serological diagnosis of pathogenic bacterias are made by using international methods. Especially in many zoonotic diseases such as Brucellosis, Anthrax and Listeriosis, which are very important in terms of animal breeding and public health. By using of antimicrobial susceptibility tests and the recommended protection and control measures are contributed to the solution

Molecular diagnostic methods are used for some of the pathogenic bacteria that cause abortions. The current microbiological isolation and identification methods are performed in our laboratory in order to diagnose bacterial diseases. The breeders are informed of the treatment of bacterial diseases and protection suggestions. Bacterial Diagnosis Laboratory is accredited by TURKAK for microscopic diagnosis of Anthrax Disease and bacteriological diagnosis of Listeria Disease.
